In this 1.5-hour workshop, participants will learn about plant biology, introductory soil science, and ecologically safe practices to protect ourselves and our other-than-human neighbors. Heavy metal contamination will be highlighted.
We will discuss the honorable harvest and Northeast Indigenous practices. Students will also receive NYC-specific resources designed to support urban farmers.
Participants will learn which plants may do best in their space and pot them up to take home. Fruit-bearing plants are open-pollinated, and participants with indoor and/or outdoor space are welcome.
